Elul is here! So much to do in so little time! If you’re looking for meaningful programming for your students, you’ve come to the right address. Torah Live offers an array of topics that can be easily implemented in any learning environment for Elul programming. They will surely have a powerful impact on your students for many years to come.

Here are some ways that you can easily integrate Torah Live topics in your Elul programming:

Rosh Hashanah and the Shofar Blasts

The shofar blasts are an integral part of Rosh Hashanah, and indeed of the entire month of Elul. Why do we hear 100 blasts of the shofar? What is the significance of the sounds we blow on the shofar? What should we be thinking during the shofar blowing in shul? Torah Live’s videos serve as a springboard for a fuller understanding of the shofar blasts, both halachic and philosophical.

Rosh Hashanah

Middos seminar

According to the Rambam in Hilchos Teshuva 7:3, repentance is not only required  for specific sins but also for negative middos:

A person should not think that repentance is only necessary for those sins that involve deeds such as promiscuity, robbery, or theft. Rather, just as a person is obligated to repent from these, similarly, he must consider the evil character traits he has. He must repent from anger, hatred, envy, frivolity, the pursuit of money and honor, the pursuit of gluttony, and the like. He must repent for all [of the above].

Show your students how they can improve their middos this Elul with these multimedia presentations:

  • Anger - The Anger presentation provides a deeper understanding of the negative effects of anger and will motivate your students to communicate effectively and create a better classroom setting throughout the year.
  • Smiling - Students will learn about the spiritual meaning of a smile and review scientific research that shows the effectiveness of a smile and the demonstration of real joy.
