Jew's Gift to Mankind

Rabbi Yosef Shalom Elyashiv (1910-2012) suggested that Kiddush Hashem was the mitzvah of our generation: “Let the name of Heaven become beloved by you." One of the ways in which we glorify the name of G-d is through the recitation of Kaddish multiple times a day during davening. This mission has been fulfilled by the Jewish people throughout history and up until today. Although we have been a persecuted minority for centuries, our contribution to the world has been disproportionately great.

Living as a Jew

Today, Kiddush Hashem, sanctifying the name of G-d, is observed, not by dying as a Jew, but by living as a Jew. In this inspiring series of videos on kiddush Hashem, Torah Live interviews Benjamin Brafman, a world renowned criminal attorney, and other famous figures who, throughout their lives, have brought about a greater acknowledgment of God and respect for Him.

You will learn that, as the chosen people, we are the ones that will bring Hashem’s name into the world, and that that is the most important thing a Jew can ever do. We are a light to the nations and we must teach the world by example. In fact, you could say that we are Hashem’s PR team. This series focuses both on the ideas behind Kiddush Hashem and the practical ways in which we can represent Hashem properly in this world.
