Viewers of Torah Live movies usually watch our films, and think, “What a great movie!” They rarely get a glimpse behind the filmmaking. On Motzei Shabbos Chol HaMoed Sukkos, Rabbi Dan Roth treated friends and supporters to an evening to meet the team and learn the secrets behind Torah Live’s work.

During a special melava malka in his sukkah (see video above), Rabbi Roth presented an assortment of his favorite picks from Torah Live’s newest clips - animation, live action, funny and inspirational. Torah Live’s president and renowned posek Rav Yitzchak Berkovitz enthusiastically (and proudly) related the amazing impact Torah Live is having, worldwide, on today’s generation.

And last, (but by far not least) the atmosphere of the evening was greatly enhanced by noted singer Ari Goldwag through his moving music.

The highlight of the evening was the exclusive, first time screenings of Torah Live’s newest films, the Ezra & Lauren Kest Emunah and Tefillah Project and The Power of Speech, which had the audience enthralled.

Following the screening the guests enjoyed a delicious dairy buffet dinner, while watching Torah Live’s production manager Sharon Katz as she took them behind the scenes of the latest productions. She shared some production secrets, including how an entire train car was filled for one location shoot and how a stunt double was created for a 103-year-old siddur. As an added bonus, everyone went home with a beautifully designed cookbook, courtesy of the women of Givat Hamivtar.

Watch highlights from the evening in the video above.
