Jewish Kids Take on Elul

The month of Elul is the perfect opportunity to brush up on important concepts like middos, tefillah and shofar. Torah Live provides Jewish kids with an in-depth and entertaining way to do just that.

Tikkun HaMiddos

As we prepare for the Yamim Noraim, we focus on tikkun hamiddos - correcting our character traits. Connecting to the Shofar Blasts

The shofar blasts are one of the most powerful aspects of the Rosh Hashanah davening. This mitzvah is so important, that during the Covid pandemic, people went out of their way to buy a shofar and learn how to blow it so that they, their families and their friends could fulfill this mitzvah even if they couldn’t go to shul. The pandemic inspired a new Torah Live series on the meaning behind shofar, how to blow it, how to buy one and more. Kids will particularly love the visit to the shofar factory and to the home of a shofar collector.

Emunah and Tefillah

Of course, emunah and tefillah are daily topics that are relevant 365 days a year, but ahead of the long tefillos of the Yamim Noraim, it’s particularly important for Jewish kids to remember why davening matters and what a difference it can make. A review of this topic will make it easier to sit through the long hours of shul and provide a new appreciation of the power of tefillah.
